An Excellent Visit to Korea

Art Busan

I had a great time participating in Art Busan 2025 in Busan, South Korea earlier this month.

Art Busan is one of the largest art shows in Asia, and I exhibited ten pieces with gallery Unplugged, a gallery located in Seoul.

This painting is “Paradise”, oil on canvas, 120×100cm, by Puntita Meeboonsabai, a Thai painter. It was really cool in person!

Here are a few of my pieces in the show:

Final Touch — 18”x18”

Mrs. Bunny Bakewell — 18”x18”

Lord Bunbury — 20”x16”

If you’re sensing a theme, you’re correct: bunnies! According to Cecelia Jo, the gallery owner, bunnies and other small animals are very popular in the Asian art market, so at her request I sent bunnies, bunnies, more bunnies … and a trio of birds:

Parisien Chic - 16”x16”

Meeting New People

One of my favorite things about attending the show was meeting other artists, collectors and art fans:

A fun picture, although it’s definitely time for a better camera phone.

Lots of people talk to animals... Not very many listen, though... That's the problem.

Great Traveling Companions

I was lucky to travel with my sister Jenny and a fun group of friends. We visited Tokyo, Osaka, Busan and Seoul.

Sumo!

But nothing could top my sumo lesson in Tokyo:

Ready …

Set …

Success!!

My nice teachers

In fact, I was so inspired by this experience, here’s the first painting I did when I got home last week:

Sumo Cat — 20”x20”
